Very rare Wernher von Braun signed first edition, first printing of ''History of Rocketry & Space Travel'', co-authored by Braun with Frederick I. Ordway III. New York: Thomas Y. Crowell Company, 1966. Von Braun signs the half-title page in black fountain pen, ''To Sidney Briggs / with the best wishes of one of the two authors of this book - / Wernher von Braun''. Not only serving as a historical and scientific record of space travel, von Braun's book also explores the lure of visiting the heavens and honors the pioneers who dreamt of its possibility. Bound in publisher's blue cloth with silver lettering, book measures 8.75'' x 11.25'' and runs 244 pages. Housed in original first printing dust jacket with $14.95 price. Light chipping and wear to jacket, overall in very good condition. Minor shelf wear to book, else near fine condition.
