Fashion sketch by Victor Edelstein, the couturier known for his collaborations with Princess Diana. Completed in gouache, sketch shows a stunning black formal fitted evening dress. Sketch is signed at lower left by Edelstein, who also writes, ''Black silk velvet dress with diamante buttons and grosgrain edging''. Diana was photographed numerous times in this gown, which she wore to several film premieres including ''Dangerous Liaisons'' on 7 March 1989, ''Postcards from the Edge'' on 17 January 1991 and ''1492: Conquest of Paradise'' on 9 October 1992. It was also used as the cover photo for ''Life'' Magazine after Diana's death. Sketch measures 12'' x 19'' matted to a size of 13.375'' x 21.625''. Near fine condition.
