Document is noted as ''No. 55'' but otherwise without the ship's information or date filled-in, though noted as Washington, 1802 from docketing on verso. Signed ''Th: Jefferson'', with paper seal intact. Document measures 23.25'' x 17.75''. Some loss to Madison's signature, separation at vertical fold just touching ''T'' of Jefferson's signature, and some loss to text repaired to verso. Light foxing and toning. Overall in very good condition.
