Nicely framed lot of Theodore Roosevelt campaign memorabilia. Lot includes a New York delegate badge for the 1912 Republican National Convention with blue and gold ribbon reading, ''Chicago / June 18, 1912''. At this convention, Roosevelt was bested by nominee William Taft, causing a break in the Republican party that led to Roosevelt running as a third party Progressive or ''Bull Moose'' nominee. Roosevelt would place second in November, losing to Democratic nominee Woodrow Wilson. As Roosevelt was from New York, this badge wearer surely supported him at the 1912 convention. Measures 2.5'' x 5.75''. Fraying to fabric, overall in good condition. A New York Excelsior pinback is framed with the badge.
Lot also includes an ''Ohio for Roosevelt'' blue and white ribbon measuring 2.5'' x 7.25''. Geraghty & Co. of Chicago printing at bottom. Fraying to top and bottom edges, else near fine. Displayed with a reproduction pinback. Lastly, lot includes part of a red, white and blue campaign ribbon, paired with a reproduction pinback; ribbon measures approximately 2.25'' x 3''. Fraying at bottom, else very good.
