Steve McQueen screen-worn blue jeans from the 1966 film ''The Sand Pebbles'', set on an American gunboat during the 1920s. McQueen starred as Jake Holman, Machinist's Mate 1st Class and nonconformist, a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and cemented his image as an icon of counterculture.
