Stan Laurel letter signed from 5 June 1964, with interesting thoughts on his fellow comedians and the Emmy Awards. Composed on Oceana stationery, where he lived, uncorrected letter reads in part, ''...Bert Wheeler - happy to know he's touring...wish him lots of success & a long run. / Note Durante did'nt do too well in Portland, am not surprised frankly - he's had his DAY, you'd think he would realise its time to retire gracefully - seems like these guys can't resist grabbing for the buck. I heard that Buster was going to do his 'Cleopatra' skit, he's done it several times but never with Swanson. / Yes Dick Van Dyke did very well in the 'EMMY' dept. its a great organization & deserve such big success. Yes, I saw the show - very well produced I thought. Yes, Chaplin is Jewish - thats no secret.!!...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Single page letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. Folds and light block of toning, otherwise near fine. Accompanied by original mailing envelope.
