Charming Stan Laurel typed letter signed, writing to a Bill Brown on 4 October 1963 on a variety of subjects, including Disneyland, ''celeb nonsense'' and Jimmy Durante. Laurel is preparing Brown for a visit to Los Angeles, recommending sights to see, in part, ''...There are many places of interest our her[e] - 'Disneyland' is a 'MUST' 'Knotts Berry Farm' 'Marine land' will send you a few brochures...'' and then instructs his Canadian friend not to bring alcohol, because it will get confiscated at the border. Laurel also gives his frank opinion about the comedian Jimmy Durante, ''...I missed seeing the Ed Sullivan show last Sunday, frankly am a little tired of Durante - same old routine over & over again is a bit boring - with all due respects, I think its time he retired gracefully - whats he trying to prove?...'' Laurel also talks about a Laurel & Hardy film, ''...Re Jimmy Finlayson, he appeared in many films with us - I recall the one you mention, I think that was titled 'From Soup to Nuts' (I served the salad 'Undressed'.)...'' and finally, Laurel tells his friend to ''forget the celeb nonsense'', ''...Note Kay [Brown's wife] will be out here around next January, we shall enjoy the pleasure of meeting her - please tell her not to worry we are just ordinary normal people - no Wall-to-Wall Mink business here - just forget the celeb nonsense - we are frank & ernest [sic] people - 'HELLO FRANK * HELLO ERNEST'!!!!!!...[signed] Stan Laurel''.
