Stan Laurel typed letter signed, dated 18 March 1963 upon Oceana stationery and accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Laurel writes to a fan in part, ''...Have no idea re who deserves an 'Oscar' this year - as you know I do'nt see any of the Theatre Movies, so am not qualified to predict...Did you see the Dick Van Dyke show on TV a couple of weeks ago, he did a L&H skit (enclosed news photo) it was very good indeed, the resemblance was the best I've seen yet...Cheerio!! [signed] Stan Laurel''. Letter is accompanied by the news clipping referenced in the letter, showing Van Dyke impersonating Laurel. Single page letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. Near fine condition.
