Sheldon Mayer's personal day planner from 1945 when Mayer was editing and creating content for All-American Publications, one of the companies that would ultimately form DC Comics. Mayer fills-in nearly every day of this planner, mentioning many of the characters and titles in the AA canon, likely recording the date that strips were due, and also often recording payments to various artists. In addition, several handwritten pages are tucked into the planner, itemizing the ''Page Rate'' for comic artists, as well as what publication the artist produced. For example, Jon Blummer is recorded as making $35 per page, with six pages produced per week for the strip ''Hop Harrigan''. A total of fifteen artists are listed, such as E.E. Hibbard who did ''Flash'', Paul Reinman and Martin Nodell who did ''Green Lantern'', and Alfonso Greene who did ''Black Pirate''. Another set of documents lists 15 artists and 10 writers with their page rates. Another typed note headlined ''Suggested Titled'' lists various funny titles for a comic book, including ''Yahoo Comics!'', ''Dopey Comics'', ''Monkey Business'' and ''Booby Stories''. A few other notes are tucked into the book, written on Mayer's personal notepads. In addition to the calendar pages filled out in the day planner, the ''January Cash Account'' page lists payments for various strips, starting with ''WW [Wonder Woman] #13'' for $100, followed by notations for ''M&J [Mutt and Jeff]'', ''Funny Stuff'', ''Jolaine [Publications]'', ''Flash'', ''G.L. [Green Lantern]'' and more. With much more content including a note about the Alfonso Greene trial, ''People v Alfonso Greene'', and a note on 14 March regarding Mayer's anniversary (''F' God's Sake don't forget''). Planner measures 6.25'' x 9'', with each page assigned to one calendar day. Bound in red boards with gold lettering. Some cocking to spine and light wear, overall in very good condition. A treasure trove detailing the inner workings of the comic industry during its Golden Age.
