Hayes' personal note reads in full: ''My Dear Friend: I would write you more fully if I could. You are always thoughtful & kind. Thankfully your friend / Sincerely / [signed] Rutherford B. Hayes. Letter is addressed to ''Edward W. Bok / Brooklyn'', the editor of ''Ladies Home Journal.'' Four page card style letter, measuring 4.25'' x 7'', shows minor toning, else very good.
