The tunic worn onscreen by Russell Crowe in the 2000 historical epic film ''Gladiator''. He won the Academy Award for his performance in the leading role as Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridias. Jany Yates also won for Best Costume Design, and the film itself won Best Picture. Sleeveless, knee-legth woven tunic has a label sewn in with ''Max'' hand-written in ink. Includes a letter of authenticity on The Golden Closet letterhead signed by Michael Castellano, Personal Set Costumer to Russell Crowe on the film. Lot also includes two 8'' x 10'' semi-matte stills featuring the costume as it appeared onscreen. Some dust and soiling to tunic from use in filming, else fine.
