Robert Louis Stevenson autograph letter signed, addressed to a Dr. Stacey from Stevenson's home Skerryvore in Bournemouth, undated but circa 1885-1887. It was at Skerryvore that Stevenson wrote his most famous novel, ''Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde''. Letter reads in part, ''To Dr Stacey, I send you something at last; I hope you may come for it. Of course, in the Sabbath morn you can stop it off when you like...May I ask you if you mean to use them, to use them as early as possible?...yours truly / Robert Louis Stevenson.'' Single page on bifolium stationery measures 6.375'' x 8''. Split starting along horizontal fold. With period writing on the last page regarding Stevenson's works. Very good condition.
