Original Robert Indiana signed ''LOVE'' sketch, done by Indiana as a draft for the artwork promoting the ''Encounter'' exhibition at the Warren Benedek Gallery in 1973. Pencil sketch on onionskin measuring 8.5'' x 10.375'' has ''LOVE'' in the famous double-row design with slanted ''O''. Spaces are filled in with A-D letters, referencing the colors he would use in the final artwork. Signed ''R.I.'' with ''LOVE'' again written on verso. Irregularly trimmed, overall near fine condition.
