Robert Frost signed first printing limited edition of ''The Gold Hesperidee'', with a lengthy handwritten excerpt of the poem, as well as additional handwritten comments within. Cortland: The Bibliophile Press, 1935. In paper wrappers, one of only 500 copies, this one unnumbered and inscribed to Frost's close friend Earle J. Bernheimer. Signed and inscribed by Frost with the first stanza of the poem in Frost's hand,
''Square Matthew Hale's young grafted apple tree
Began to blossom at the age of five;
And after having entertained the bee,
And cast its flowers and all the stems but three,
It set itself to keep those three alive;
And downy wax the three began to thrive.

Frost additionally notates the introduction with an asterisk, writing ''*Said without authority: I never tell anyone which are my favorites. R.F.'', referring to the note that this poem is one of Frost's favorites. Finally, Frost hand-edits the last page, crossing out ''upon'' and handwriting ''on'' instead. Composed in blue fountain pen.
Bound in silk fabric tie, and measuring 4.875'' x 7.375'' and running 8pp. A near fine copy with only slight crease to top edge of covers. Housed in custom slipcover with custom chemise.
