David G. Burnet signed $500 bond issued by the Republic of Texas in January 1841. At this time Burnet was Acting President of the Republic, serving in the stead of President Mirabeau Lamar, who was in New Orleans on medical leave. Bond measures 9.75'' x 7.5''. Overall in fair condition with toning, splitting along folds and some paper loss on coupon portion. Burnet's prominent signature remains strong and intact.
