Extended to John Charles, Earl of Portsmouth, invitation for Queen Victoria's 28 June 1838 coronation reads in part, ''...These are to Will and command you (all excuses set apart) to make your personal attendance on Us...'' Signed ''Victoria R'' at upper left, with large signature. On bifolium paper, invitation measures 7.875'' x 12.5''. Separation starting along fold lines, some fading to signature and overall toning. Very good condition.
