Pablo Picasso terre de faience (earthenware) plaque ''Petit Visage Solaire'' created at the famed Madoura pottery studio in the south of France, where Picasso collaborated the last 25 years of his life and created unique, playful pieces such as this. Painted and partially glazed plaque in Picasso's unmistakable style was created in 1968 in a small edition of 100, numbered 24/100. Also with the workshop numbering and with both the Empreinte Originale de Picasso and Madoura stamps. Measures 6.625'' x 6.5''. In very good plus condition with some wear on verso. A short firing crack is inherent to production. Number 552 in Alan Ramie's ''Picasso, Catalogue of the Edited Ceramic Works, 1947-1971''.
