Original charcoal sketch for an American Red Cross poster. The final layout of the poster is planned upon the sketch, with a block of text affixed to the top, and artist's signature affixed to bottom center (Andrew Burgess?). A smiling nurse in uniform holds a gleeful baby, and happily tolerates the tiny fingers exploring her face. A logo reading ''American Red Cross / Volunteer'' is positioned on the right. The headline reads: ''Good things happen / when you give''. Paperboard measures 19.5'' x 23.5'', which is affixed to another paperboard to an overall size of 22.25'' x 28.25''. Adhesive residue and toning. In very good condition overall.
