Original Hal Foster preliminary artwork for the ''Prince Valiant'' comic strip, #1949 in the series. Pencil and ink sketch was for the strip published on 16 June 1974, hand-drawn by Foster as the strip transitioned from Foster to John Cullen Murphy. Lot also includes a typed story outline, and separate typed story narration. Sketch measures 8.5'' x 11''; typed pages measure 8'' x 10.5''. Three hole punch, paperclip impression at top, and red pen on sketch. Overall in very good condition. From the John Cullen Murphy estate.
