Morgan Bulkeley document signed as Governor of Connecticut, appointing a notary public on 30 January 1889. Bulkeley is well-known as the first president of the National League for baseball, a position he held in 1876 and for which he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as a pioneer of the sport. Bifolium document measures 14'' x 8.5'' as folded, displaying Connecticut's blindstamped seal at lower left. Folded into fourths and minor stain on verso, overall very good condition.
