Poem reads,
"It happened in Monterey! (last night)
Would you have liked the things I'd done,
If they were really true?
I'm sure you would sweet angel, Hon,
You've claimed they were so few.
I held you in my arms last night,
T'was but a dream that's true,
I hugged you so and held you tight,
What else was I to do?
When first I saw you angel dear,
You came as in a mist.
You spoke some words I couldn't hear,
Then swiftly I was kissed.
You spoke the words that I love best,
They thrilled me to the heart.
You said, 'My dear don't be distressed'
'We won't be long apart.'
And then you said, 'I love you dear.'
Said I, 'I love you too.'
Said you, The words I love to hear
They seldom come from you.
I felt quite peeved to think you'd clown,
On such a night as this.
You laughed and kissed away my frown,
And oh boy what a kiss.
You said, 'I must leave with the Sun
You'd better make it snappy
I thought you'd like to have some fun
I'm here to make you happy.'
You held me tight in fond embrace,
I can't say more right now.
I know that we lay face to face,
Did I enjoy? And How!
And then you said, 'I have to go'!,
Then kissed me oh so tender.
You kissed my eyelids closed, and ho!
Thats all I can remember.
And in the morning what a sight,
My Gosh! Gee whiz! Oh dear!,
The maid will give me Hell alright,
You'd best keep out of here."
