Letter and poem read,

"To have you write about the things you buy for us. I wish I could help you for I know there are so many thing you need and want. The man who is in there now wants $185 for the fixtures such as shelving, cashier's desk, Electric fixtures and window backing, including a large electric cash register for which he figures $85. If I want the fixtures alone he asks $100. Lumber costs 10 cents a running foot. It would cost me much more to buy the lumber and have them made Even at that I must have lumber to have more shelving made. Then I'll have a carpenter to pay. I can get a brand new register up to date $250. $15 down and $15 per month. The place has no heat in it. I must buy some gas radiators that is a small payment down and so much a month with the gas bill. There are a lot of such little puzzling items that I wish I had some one here to help me decide. I must decide about the fixtures and cash register by to morrow noon. I hope Uncle Joe gets here by then. He won't come down a penny. I mean the man who owns the fixtures. I'll do the best I know how honey. Then I must buy about 30 good tables 4 1/8 feet by 2 1/2 ft. They will cost me at least $100. It must be done honey. Don't worry about. Everything will be alright. I think the best thing is to hold the cash and buy the register on time. As soon as I finish this letter I'll figure out about the lumber. I love you sweetheart mine with all my heart and some. May God bless you and keep you safe, well and happy forever for your devoted Sweetheart & Pal

I Hope
I hope my prayers are answered Hon
They're most for you Sweetheart
For you're my love, my only one
I hope we'll never part
I hope we will forever be
Just sweethearts fond and free
Pals forever, you and me
Trusting and true blue.
I hope your health is at its best
I hope 'twill always be
For health comes first in every test
Of all humanity.
I hope your face is wreathed in smiles
'twas never meant for frowns
For we must travel many miles.
With as many ups and downs
I hope dearheart the ups and downs I spoke of do not come.
On our faces there shall be no frowns
As can be seen on some
I'm hopeing too that happiness
Shall haunt your every our
I'm hopeing for God's kindliness
To bless your with his dower.
I'm hopeing dear that charity too
In your life plays a great big part
For 'tis an old true Proverb of the Jew
That to give makes light the heart
I hope your heart will be bright as the sun
Then mine will be light too
For ours are two hearts that beat as one
I'd go through Hell for you
I hope that Hell we'll never know
Amongst hopes it should not be
We'll just forget that rhyme and so
To on with hopes you see.
I hope for success for your and I
If we gain it we'll share it with others
To give away some will be easy as pie
To our relatives sisters and brothers
I hope we will soon be married
I long to call you my wife
I cannot help that we're tarried
We'll soon be sweethearts for life
I hope we are blessed with a girl
Thats what I meant by God's dower
It's all in his hands the sorrow or joy
In him is bested the power
I'm hopeing too Sweetheart of mine
That Lilly gets a beaux
And 'ere a year has spent its time
Is married and - - you know.
I hoped for that because it was a load upon your mind
And I have wished it too because
She is so good and kind.
I guess I've hoped for all that's good
I've wished a whole lot too
I know I've done the best I could
But I've a few more hopes for you
I hope that all your hopes come true
I hope you'll hope for me
I hope your skies are always blue
I hope these hopes for thee
