Writing from Buffalo, New York on 26 November 1866, Fillmore works to get the fledgling organization off the ground, ''Dear Sir, We have a young but growing Historical Society in Buffalo of which I am President, and we are very anxious to obtain a copy of all the publications of the different historical Societies in the Several States, by purchase where we are able and can afford it, and by donation where they are freely bestowed...Millard Fillmore''. Two page letter on a single sheet of lined paper measures 4.875'' x 8''. Shallow folds, overall in near fine condition.
