Printed membership card for Bruce Lee's first U.S. martial arts school, the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute. In 1959 Lee began teaching martial arts in the United States while an undergrad at the University of Washington, founding his first school, Jun Fan Gung Fu (literally Bruce Lee's Kung Fu) in Seattle. This evolved into his most well-known school of martial arts, ''Jeet Kune Do,'' also known as ''JKD,'' which he founded in 1967. Front of card has ''Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute'' printed in both English and Chinese. Also with a red and gold yin/yang symbol and the school's philosophy, ''Using No Way As Way / Having No Limitation As Limitation''. Verso has printed, ''Address of Institute / Phone / Recommended By / Remarks / Please Bring This Card With You'' printed in both English and Chinese. Card measures 4'' x 2.5'' and is encased in a thick lucite holder. Near fine.
