'Honorable withdrawal card'' given to Mary Astor by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists upon her retirement from acting in 1965. After enjoying a hugely successful career on the big screen that culminated with an Oscar and her iconic role opposite Humphrey Bogart in ''The Maltese Falcon'', Astor decided to retire from acting to pursue a writing career instead. Dated 1 November 1965, card reads, ''...This is to certify that Mary Astor / S3111 / Having paid all dues and assessments to date is hereby granted an Honorable Withdrawal Card...'' Measures 4'' x 2.5''. Slight toning else near fine. From the estate of Mary Astor.
