Academy Award-winning actress Mary Astor typed letter signed to her agent Gloria Safier, composed on stationery with her address in Malibu. Dated 28 April 1964, letter reads, ''Hi! - A young man sent you a note and resume the other day - I just want to verify the fact that he really is a friend. He should have asked me first, because I know how easily such 'little notes' find their way into the wastebasket. He hasn't made it out here for some reason, although I think he's a good actor and an almost boringly dedicated one! Film seems to swallow up his personality - maybe he's for the theatre - Have you had any magazine interest in 'The O'Connors' ? Love - Mary / P.S. The man's name is Andrew Colmar.'' Accompanied by a copy of the letter Gloria Safier sent to Astor in reply. Single page letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Pencil notation and a small stain to upper right and stapling to upper left, else near fine.
