Group of original documents from ''Apocalypse Now'', including Marlon Brando's contract to star as Colonel Walter Kurtz in the film. Document dated 1 March 1976 contracts Brando to play the role of ''Colonel Tyler in the production of the motion picture now entitled 'Apocalypse, Now''' for a sum of $1,000,000, with principal photography to begin in September 1976. Agreement runs 32pp., signed by Brandon on the last page in blue ballpoint, ''Marlon Brando''. Measures 8.5'' x 11'' with file holes at top. Last page detached, overall very good.
Lot also includes:
2) Harry Dean Stanton waiver signed for credit on the film, with him additionally writing, ''Francis - I didn't sign the first waiver you sent me because I'm not in the film. Right? My sequence was cut because of Harvey Keitel -- or -- is there a technicality involved with SAG because I was, in fact, paid for working on the film? In any case, here's the signed waiver and I'm looking forward to seeing the film - Sincerely, / Harry Dean''. Document measures 8.5'' x 11'', penned by Stanton on both sides of sheet.
3-4) Two agreements signed by The Doors for use of their song, ''The End'' in the film. One document is signed by Ray Manzarek, the other by John Densmore and Robert Krieger. Each agreement runs 2pp. on two separate sheets measuring 8.5'' x 11''.
5) SAG contract signed by Colleen Camp, who played the Playmate ''Miss May'' in the film. Single page measures 8.5'' x 13.5''.
6-8) Several documents signed by the band Flash Cadillac, who performed the song ''Suzie Q'' in the film, or the band's manager, Peter Rachtman.
9) Handwritten note by unidentified individual, who explains to Francis Ford Coppola why he or she didn't send a signed document back expeditiously.
Documents have some handling wear, staple punctures, etc., all in very good condition.
