Mario Puzo signed first edition, fourth printing of ''The Godfather'', his 1969 novel that was adapted into the iconic Academy Award winning film. New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1969. Signed by Puzo on the red front free endpaper in blue ballpoint, ''For Linda / An honorary member of the Bayshore Girl Mafia based on Manor Lane / I hope you like the book / Best / Mario Puzo''. Bound in cream and black boards, with a gilt image of a puppet master's hand on the front board, and lettering in gilt to spine. Measures 6'' x 8.5'' and runs 446pp. With original dust jacket, in very good condition. The recipient, Linda Hamilton's name written above inscription in another hand. Moisture damage to boards, which fortunately has not affected the interior, else very good.
