Charles Lindbergh lot of items related to the homecoming celebrations held in his honor following his non-stop flight from New York to Paris in May of 1927. Six men died attempting this feat before Lindbergh succeeded and, for it, he was awarded both the $25,000 Orteig prize and the Medal of Honor. Of the two tickets included in the lot, one admits the bearer to ''Exercises Attending the Reception to Captain Lindbergh'' on 11 June 1927. At this ceremony President Coolidge bestowed upon Lindbergh the first ever Distinguished Flying Cross. Measures 5.25'' x 2.25''. Creasing and some abrasions, else near fine. The second ticket admits its bearer to a dinner held for Lindbergh at the William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh on 3 August 1927. Measures 5.5'' x 4.25''. Table number 50 is handwritten and 952 is stamped to verso. Tiny stain to top edge, else fine. Also included is a medal bearing images of Lindbergh and his mother, with verso bearing the seal of the City of Pittsburgh, PA and the date 3 August 1927. With red, white and blue ribbon attached. Measures 1.5'' in diameter. Some tarnishing, else near fine.
