Dated 18 February 1942, he writes upon his personal stationery to Louis Wheelock: ''...I do not have the remotest idea that I will be having anything to do with the conduct of this war and therefore cannot be of any help to you. However, in these times the country needs the services of all men, and I feel sure that you will no doubt be able to find a useful place...[signed] Herbert Hoover''. 1pp. measures 7.25'' x 10.5''.
