Charles Schulz hand-drawn ''Peanuts'' Sunday strip. In this ''back to school'' strip from 22 September 1968, Charlie Brown's best friend Linus van Pelt takes his seat in the back of the classroom. The pint-size intellectual eloquently defends his choice of seats with a Biblical quote, but alas Miss Othmar is not amused, and in the last panel Linus finds himself seated smack-dab in the front row beside her desk. 1968 King Features Syndicate label is affixed to the center panel. The title is drawn on a separate sheet and affixed to upper left. This is a half-page layout, the largest format for a newspaper cartoon, and bears handwritten notations to the bottom edge. Measures 24'' x 17''. Toning and light soiling. Near fine condition.
