Emmy award presented to makeup artist Mark Shostrom for his work on the hit show ''The X Files'' during the 1998-1999 season. He won for the episode ''Two Fathers / One Son (Parts 1 & 2)''. These episodes' ratings were high, since they were intended to reveal the truth behind some of the enigmatic elements of the nine-year series. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' iconic statue of a winged woman on tiptoe, holding an atom, is intended to symbolize television's convergence of science and art. Statue is made of gold-plated metal on a metal base. The front of the base reads: ''1998-1999 Primetime Emmy Awards / Outstanding Makeup for a Series / The X Files - 'Two Fathers / One Son (Parts 1 & 2)' / FOX / Mark Shostrom, Makeup Artist''. Measures 15.25'' in total height, with a 7.5'' diameter base. Weighs 4 lbs., 13.25 oz. Light tarnishing to the back of figure's dress, else fine.
