Published by the Vinson & Korner Co.: Cleveland: 1905. This is number 239 of an edition limited to 425 copies. The billionaire signs ''John D. Rockefeller'' in blue beneath his frontis photo portrait. On the date indicated in the title, eight years into his retirement as an oil mogul, a local crowd gathered to call on Rockefeller at his home, paying their respects to him as a businessman and philanthropist. This 70pp. volume contains 38pp. of the speeches delivered that day, including the one given by Rockefeller in response. Measures 7.5'' x 10.25''. Bound in charcoal paper boards with tan leather spine and gilt lettering. Deckled edges. In near fine condition.
