Thornton Burgess typed letter signed on his personal stationery, dated 18 March 1929. The "Bedtime Stories" children's literature columnist responds imaginatively to a fan, in full, "Dear Rhoda: Sister South Wind has just whispered to me that Buster Bear is beginning to get a little uneasy in his sleep and presently will be stirring. So I suspect that any day soon he may come shuffling along through the Green Forest to find out if anything has been left over winter for him to eat. I am glad you like Buster and the stories about him. I rather like him myself. If he were wide awake I know he would send you his love. As it is, Peter Rabbit wants to send his and I send my own with it. Your story friend, Thornton W. Burgess". 1pp. measures 8.25" x 7". Creasing and a touch of foxing, else near fine. Includes original envelope.
