American artist Paul Cadmus charcoal portrait entitled ''Jen''. The artist, best known for his paintings and drawings of male portraits, also created public works for the WPA during the 1930's. The subject of this portrait, Cadmus' close friend Jensen Yow, was featured in ''The Bath,'' a 1951 painting in the Whitney Museum collection. His works are also in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Smithsonian collections. The charcoal heightened with white on colored paper is signed ''Cadmus'' in the lower right corner. The 9.25'' x 14'' drawing is matted and framed to an overall size of 17'' x 21''. Fine condition. Sotheby's provenance.
