The partially printed invitation, addressed to ''Hon Mr Dallas / Vice President Elect / Washington'' reads, ''The President and Mrs. Tyler request the pleasure of Mr. Dallas' company, on Wednesday evening, the 19th of February at half past eight o'clock''. Dallas and President Elect James Polk would take office on 4 March 1845. Minor soiling and paper loss to 5'' x 7.5'' card style invitation, with remnants of a red wax seal. Very good.
