Photo of Mount Rushmore prior to completion signed by its sculptor Gutzon Borglum. The Danish-American sculptor inscribes the road ieading to Mount Rushmore: "Sincerely / Gutzon Borglum / 1941" in bold black ink. A letter of provenance is included from the grandson of the photo's original recipient, Russell M. Arundel, who worked on Mt. Rushmore. Lot also includes the U.S. Park Service's roster of Mount Rushmore workers from 1927-1941 on which Arundel's name appears. Matte photo is backstamped Bell Photo, Rapid City, SD and measures 10.25" x 13.75". Mild creasing along left and right edges with a few small tears along the right edge, and light soiling to verso. In very good to near fine condition.
