Paramount Pictures sign from the iconic Paramount Theatre in New York City, one of the earliest movie theatres which opened in 1926 during the silent movie era and remained open until 1964. The elegant movie palace at 43rd and Broadway, with its marble columns, red velvet upholstery and grand staircase, was the scene of many glamorous movie premieres, and this stately two-sided bronze sculpture greeted patrons in its lobby. Sculpture weighs 50 pounds and was produced from two cast moldings, bound together; each side displays the Paramount Pictures logo. The 21.75" circular plaque features the very same logo used by Paramount to this day. Original patina was a shiny luster; the owner can choose to polish the sculpture if they so wish. Overall in near fine condition, beautifully preserved from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
