Author A.A. Milne and illustrator Ernest H. Shepard sign the limitation page of ''The Christopher Robin Story Book'' published by E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc.: New York: 1929. Limited edition #78 of 350. This hardcover book contains 171pp. of classic Winnie the Pooh vignettes and poems with illustrations on nearly every page. Milne, a British author and playwright, based his wildly successful children's books on his own son Christopher Robin Milne and the imaginary life of the boy's teddy bear. Green cloth boards are partially covered by illustrated tan paper with black lettering. Bright green endpapers and deckled tail and fore-edges. Front free endpaper has a penciled marking reading ''Sippy''. Mild soiling to boards, some loss of paper to the spine label and sunning to the backstrip. Measures 7.25'' x 9''. Overall in very good condition.
