Original artwork by Salvador Dali of one of his greatest artistic inspirations, the tragic character of Don Quixote. In this signed artwork, completed over two pages of ''Twentieth-Century Graphics'', Dali draws Quixote riding his horse Rocinante with his sword drawn, in Dali's signature surrealist style. Dated 1979 at lower margin and signed by Dali upon the opposite page, completed in black ink. New York: Praeger Publishers, 1971 first U.S. edition.

Dali's long relationship with Don Quixote extends back to 1946 when Dali created 10 watercolors and 28 drawings for the English-language edition of the famous novel by Miguel de Cervantes. Dali again revisited the character for a 1957 illustrated French edition of the book. His interpretation of Quixote remains among the most engaging of his artistic career. Book measures 6.125'' x 8.5'', housed in original dust jacket. Jacket has a few closed tears, in very good condition. Book and artwork are near fine.
