Stunning gold winner's medal from the VIII Olympiad, won at the games in Paris, France in 1924. Designed by Andre Rivaud, the 1924 Paris Olympic medals were the first to feature the Olympic rings, shown on the front underneath a competitor helping his rival in the spirit of sportsmanship. Reverse features relief of sports equipment and a harp which is a nod to the Cultural Olympiad. Measures 55 mm in diameter and 3 mm across the rim; weighs 77 grams. Made of gold plated gilt silver, with ''2ARGENT'' stamp on rim as called for. Extremely rare with only 304 originally minted. Near fine condition.
