Hungarian pianist and composer Franz Liszt autograph letter signed, dated 23 March 1886, only five months before his death. In the letter, written in French to an unknown correspondent, Liszt explains that he will not be able to attend the rehearsals of the recipient's concert. He sends assurances that he will be present at the first half of the premiere performance. He signs, ''F. Liszt''. The composer, who performed his own piano compositions and other pieces throughout Europe, was considered one of the greatest pianists of his age. He also taught piano until his death at age 74. One page 5'' x 7.25'' letter is framed with an image of the composer and a plaque to an overall size of 20'' x 23.5''. Near fine.
