Clark of New York, ''Solicitor of the Treasury of the United States...during the pleasure of the President of the United States for the time being and until the end of the next session of the Senate of the United States and no longer...'' The twelfth President signs, ''Z. Taylor''. John M. Clayton countersigns as Secretary of State. 17.25'' x 14.5'' single page appointment bears an intact blind embossed paper seal in the lower left corner. Minor creasing and toning pattern from previous framing. Very good condition.
