Original card from the Japanese surrender ceremony on 2 September 1945, hand-signed by U.S. Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, one of the signers of the instrument of surrender. Card certifies the presence of John S. Knight, who served as Director of the U.S. Office of Censorship during World War II. It interestingly bears the symbol of the Japanese empire, with the circular blind-stamp of the U.S.S. Missouri and additional facsimile signatures of Captain Stuart S. Murray, General Douglas MacArthur, Admiral Chester W. Nimitz and Admiral William F. Halsey. Card measures 3.625'' x 2.5''. Light wear, else near fine. Card is quite rare; we've only had one other and that example was not signed by Admiral Nimitz as this one is.
