A rare complete set in near fine condition of Salvador Dali's ''Divine Comedy'', comprising 100 woodcuts in color on loose sheets of handmade paper. Verona: Arti e Scienze Salani, 1963-1964, #1,373 of 2,900 comparable examples in the total limited edition of 3,044. A visual interpretation of Dante Alighieri's poem ''Divine Comedy'' (included here in Italian), Dali painted 101 watercolors for this suite, from which 3500 woodblocks were carved to create these 100 engravings. Dante considered this suite to be the most important of his career. Each woodcut measures approximately 10.25'' x 13'' with deckled bottom edge. Housed in original six slipcases, which have some shelf wear. Woodcuts, however, are near fine.
