Lot of five awards given to Eugene T. Booth, one of the principal scientists of both the Manhattan Project, and also the Columbia University Division of War Research, where he conducted the first demonstration of nuclear fission in the United States. Lot includes: (1) Citation from the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, dated 26 March 1971. Citation reads in part, ''...in recognition of the outstanding scientific contributions to the development of nuclear energy...The efforts of these scientists during the period 1939-45...were major contributions to the birth of the Nuclear Age...'' Citation lists the names of Booth and three others in gilt rubrication. Measures 22.5'' x 19'' as framed. Near fine condition.

Other awards include: (2) Bronze medal from Columbia University reading, ''World War II for Participation in the Work of the Division of War Research''. With Columbia crown in bas relief, and Booth's name engraved on reverse. Medal measures 2.375'' x 4.125''. Near fine.

(3) Bronze medal issued by the SACLANT ASW (Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic Anti-Submarine Warfare), predecessor to the NATO Undersea Research Centre, and where Booth served as scientific director. Measures 2.5'' in diameter. Corrosion to reverse, else near fine.

(4) Bronze medal issued by Project Nobska, the 1956 U.S. Navy study on defending against nuclear submarines. With bas relief portrait at top, and Booth's name engraved on reverse. Measures 2.125'' x 3.5''. Near fine.

(5) Pin from the SACLANT ASW under the umbrella of NATO, a pairing which occurred in 1962. Gilt and enamel pin by Drago Paris measures 1'' in diameter. Near fine condition.
