Commemorative cover signed by the first two people to climb Mount Everest, Sir Edmund Hillary and sherpa Tenzing Norgay. First day cover was officially issued by the Kingdom of Nepal celebrating the 25th anniversary of the legendary climb, with two Nepalese stamps affixed. Accompanied by the limited edition silver coin. Each climber signs underneath the coin, which is contained in the cover and then housed in a navy blue wallet-style cover with button clasp. Cover was certified by the Nepalese government on 29 May 1978. Cover measures 8'' x 4.5'', with the coin measuring 1.25'' in diameter. Some foxing, and haloing to Norgay's signature, overall in very good condition.
