After the Civil War, Republican Presidents appointed Douglass to various government positions including Recorder of Deeds as well as Minister and Consul General to Haiti. Three-page document measures 14'' x 8.5'' unfolded. Light wear and toning, and small holes at intersecting folds, overall in very good plus condition.
