Hunter S. Thompson ''Manor House'' postcard from February 1961 sent to his friend Paul Semonin. On this card, Thompson tapes a small illustration of a jackdaw bird sitting atop a statue, with Thompson typing underneath, ''He who does the dinga will pay the price......'' Thompson had recently relocated to Big Sur and found work as a caretaker at the Manor House in Slates Hot Springs, which he wrote about for ''Rogue'' magazine in October 1961 entitled ''Big Sur: The Topic of Henry Miller''. Card postmarked 18 February 1961 from Big Sur measures 5.5'' x 3.25''. Some discoloration to tape and creasing to card, overall very good condition.
