Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley autograph letter signed, undated but likely from the early to mid-1840s. In this rare missive by the ''Frankenstein'' author, Shelley writes to the Italian nobleman Bartolomeo Cini about a reunion with their Tuscan friends. Letter reads, ''Esteemed Sir...This will be given to you by Ms. Marianna. I would like to please ask that you come for lunch here Wednesday and I will pray Chiara to also come. It will be a small gathering of Tuscan friends, so to say. / We will dine at 7. Thus, we will see each other before you leave. This will give me great pleasure and also Chiara who [strikethrough] I would not be able to see otherwise. / Please believe my sentiments in telling your Excellence that I am your servant and friend. / M Shelley''. Four page letter on bifolium stationery measures 3.5'' x 4.375'' as folded. Folds, and rough lower edge, overall in very good plus condition. With full translation.
